4 Pentacles

The Card: A man is sitting with 4 pentacles. His feet are placed on 2 of them, one is one the head, and the last he is holding with his arms. He is sitting with his back towards the city, depicted under a grey sky.

Interpretation: Clearly this man is closed in his body language. Hunched holding on to the gifts he has been given, and placing his feet on them. Also the fact that his back is turned towards the city, tells the tale of someone socially disconnected with life. Solitude doesn't necessarily mean disassociation with society. But our man here is retreated into a shell, holding back, not sharing his possessions and energy, and not being in a state of equilibrium.

Prediction: For whatever reason we choose to hold on to our possessions or energy it will not work. We are safe but it will bring only stagnation. Give from your gifts, share, and the world will give back. You will be richer that you thought.

3 Pentacles

The Card: A Sculptor, a Jester and a Monk are communicating in an archway of a grey stone building. The Jester is holding some sort of plan, the Sculptor is looking up from his work. 3 pentacles are carved above the pillar.

Interpretation: Body, spirit and soul are represented by 3 people, but also by 3 pentacles. Here union is finding place. For the sculptor, his work is not only chipping away at some stone. He finds fulfilment by being one with actions, and material.

Being present now is the message with this card. Our hero is taking a break from the work with patience and calmness. Neither being in a hurry or casual about his working pace. He is aligning with spirit and soul to make sure he is completely on track. Then he will continue in equilibrium.

Prediction: To find fulfilment I will now stop remembering and dwelling on the past, neither will I long for what is to come. I will be at peace with what is and comes, instead of expecting.

2 Pentacles

The Card: A young man dressed in red and brown is standing with two pentacles in his hands. The pentacles are surrounded by an 8-shape. He is standing with his back towards the sea where two ships are sailing the waves. Both the sea and the sky is blue.

Interpretation: Our young man seems to be an entertaining juggler, but he himself has become aware of what he is juggling with: Energy and matter, spirit and the material. He is looking at them, feeling as if he has to choose one or the other. But the band holding them separated in a loop of infinity merely has to be twisted a quarter turn, then they are in the same space, free to merge. There is no dilemma.

Right now his mind is in the same state as the ships behind him, up and down, up and down. But he has turned his back on the sea, thus he can not see what he is caught up in. In spite of his indecisiveness he is in some kind of equilibrium, riding the waves of life. Perhaps he has got to turn around now, going deeper in the act of facing the sea.

Prediction: There is doubt, I will now have to face the constant change and become at ease with it. To ride the waves of life with grace and flow. One side doesn't outweigh the other, they are part of a whole.

Ace of Pentacles

The Card: A radiant white (right) hand, holding a pentacle, is appearing from a grey cloud, seen against a grey sky. It's hovering above a garden with white flowers. A leafy archway shows blue mountains beyond the garden.

Interpretation: We have reached a beautiful garden, a beautiful state of being. The white flowers show us that a certain level of purity has been attained.

But our journey does not end there, another trek is required. The gift of this quest is being presented to us. It can be the gift of spiritual energy/power, or a material reward. Energy and matter are as we know two sides of the same coin. To earn the gift we have to exit the garden through the portal and traverse the mountains, once more into the unknown, a hunt for the gift.

Prediction: I have reached a goal / come to a good place, but I will venture further in search for even greater fulfilment, in the sense of which is important to me.

Keywords: Purity, invitation for another quest, an offer of spirituality or matter, the unknown, growth.

King of Cups

The Card: The king is holding one cup and his sceptre. He is dressed in blue green and red, sitting on a grey throne. Around the throne is water and the sky is grey.

Interpretation: Where the queen still sat on a bit of land the King is now completely surrounded by water. His throne looks to be afloat in the midst of turbulent waters. But how flowing is the King ? His throne looks like a grey rock, the same colour as the sky, and he has got a stern look in his face. He knows its time to let fully go, we can see his foot is sliding towards the water, as if he was going to slip into the unknown territory below.

He knows his power symbolised by the sceptre. Perhaps he is reviewing his life, deliberately staying on his little rock of well known structure before he jumps in. Or maybe he has managed to balance the structure and the flow, he can navigate the deep waters of emotions and surfacing subconscious on his floating throne, with one foot connecting him to the waters.

Prediction: With experience I will navigate the situations of uncertainty, and constantly changing situations. I keep a measure of structure around me since it is useful, but I know its good and necessary and good the invite the spontaneous, uncontrollable and unknown.

Keywords: Structure and uncertainty blending, method and spontaneity, experience and personal power, accepting the unknown.
